Feels Good!

Feels good to be “back in the saddle” again. Went for a 40 mile ride the other day, and stayed in the big ring most of the day! Took less rest stops too. Avg speed @ 16.5mph. But I’m ready to get a compact crank though!

Went to the Dr. the other day for something, seeing my heartrate soaring, made me talk to the Dr. about a full physical. I have been struggling with weight gain during the “off-season” so I knew that going in but high blood pressure and stress is not good! I can only blame myself for not staying in shape. No more excuses, bad weather, tired, too busy, none of that matters because my life is at stake. Full lifestyle change is in order, starting with diet and exercise be it biking, treadmill, walk the dog, weights, doesn’t matter what as long as you’re moving. God help me to be diligent.

Been a while

Wow almost forgot about this blog, well it’s been well over a year since my last update. I was off the bike for all of last winter, and didn’t do much Spring training either, road the couch and it cost me dearly!
I’m glad to say that I have been motivated and started riding during the week and am slowly building back up. Bought a new helmet, that helps motivate, shopping for new shoes next, mine kill my toes!

It’s funny how fast we get out of shape! Before winter my average training pace was 19-21 mph, now it’s 15-17 mph! A lot more training rides to get back up to speed.
